Bob Schalkwijk, started his career as photographer in 1960 in Mexico. Since then, he has taken over 400,000 photographs around the world, from still portraits to vastly changing landscapes, thundering waterfalls and smoking volcanoes.

More specifically, among Bob's many passions is anthropological photography and being able to capture the mere essences of a population's way of life by taking photographs of their indigenous traditions, culinary customs, sculptures, arts and crafts, and even local dress.

From his collection of over 1000 photographs of murals by renowned artists, such as Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and Jose Clemente Orozco, to his latest exhibition on "Sceneries of Water", Bob's fascination with his camera lenses is as limitless as his other passion, travel.

From the most hidden corners of the world to the most common, Bob's appetite for the perfect picture has enabled him to capture on film something as delicate as a melting seahorse in the cold waters of the Antarctic to something as charming as the warm twinkle in the eyes of a proud grandmother witnessing her granddaughter's wedding in China.

In every sense of the word, Bob embodies the charisma, energy and enthusiasm that define a photographer who knows no geographic, cultural, political or religious borders.
